The Argentine Open Final
The biggest day in polo: the final of the Argentine Open at the Campo Argentino de Polo in Palermo, every December. Six days in Buenos Aires built around the final weekend, with a day out on an estancia.
Why the final
The Argentine Open is the biggest tournament in polo, first played in 1893, and its final is the last match of the Triple Crown. It is played in Palermo, in the city itself, at the ground known as the cathedral of polo.
Around it you have Buenos Aires at its best: long evenings, steak and wine, tango, and a city that stays up late.
It suits friends, couples and corporate groups who want one of the great days in world sport with a proper city break around it.
Day by day
A sample week. Every day can be changed, swapped or dropped: we build it around the 2027 final date once it is announced.

Good to know
When to go
The final is in December; the 2027 date is to be confirmed. It is warm in Buenos Aires by then, and can be hot.
Tickets
We arrange tickets for the matches you want to see, subject to availability. Finals sell out first, so the earlier you ask, the better.
Time difference
Argentina is three hours behind the UK in the British winter and four in the British summer, so jet lag is mild.
What to wear
Smart casual. Bring a hat and sunscreen: the stands can be in full sun.
Getting there
Flights from the UK go via Madrid or via Brazil. British Airways' Heathrow service to Buenos Aires currently stops in Rio de Janeiro, with non-stop flights (about 14 hours) due to return from 28 March 2027. Flying via Rio? It makes an easy stopover: add a few days in Rio de Janeiro before or after your trip. International flights are not included: you book your own and we plan the trip around them.
Entry: British passport holders
Argentina: no visa needed for tourism for up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for the whole of your stay. Brazil (a Rio stopover, or the Brazilian side of Iguazú): no visa needed for up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Brazil. Travelling on another passport? Check your own government's advice. Checked against GOV.UK travel advice on 5 October 2026. Rules can change: always check before you travel.
Add to any trip
Every trip can be extended before or after the polo:
Iguazú Falls
One to three days at the falls in the far north, with guided visits to the Argentine and Brazilian sides.
Mendoza's wine country
Two to four days among the vineyards under the Andes, with private tastings and a driver.
