Where you’ll go
For seventeen years England did not tour Pakistan. When they went back in 2022, the welcome was extraordinary: full grounds, cricket-mad cities and hospitality that every travelling fan still talks about.
Away from the cricket are Lahore’s walled city, the Badshahi Mosque and the Mughal fort, the green capital of Islamabad under the Margalla Hills, the Sufi shrines of Multan, and Karachi’s food streets on the Arabian Sea.
England are back in October 2026 for an ODI tri-series with Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi and Lahore. We are not offering trips to Pakistan yet: join the Family to be first to hear when we do.

Lahore
The cultural capital: the Gaddafi Stadium, the Mughal fort and the walled city.
Lahore Fort and the Shalimar Gardens are a World Heritage Site. Next to the fort stands the Badshahi Mosque, built in 1673, one of the largest mosques in the world. The walled city’s gates, bazaars and food streets come alive in the evening. The rebuilt Gaddafi Stadium hosted England at the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Non-stop from Heathrow, or one stop via the Gulf. About 4 hours from Islamabad by motorway.

Travel notesEntry, travel advice, health, money, phones, water, dress, weather, plugs and getting around.+
Entry+
British passport holders need a visa to visit Pakistan, and must apply in advance, online through the Government of Pakistan visa portal (visa.nadra.gov.pk).
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date you apply. Rules can change, so always check GOV.UK travel advice before you travel.
Travel advice+
The UK government advises against travel to some parts of Pakistan, including Balochistan, Peshawar and much of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Sindh north of Nawabshah. The cricket cities are not in those areas, and we never plan trips there.
Your travel insurance could be invalidated if you travel against the advice. Stay away from demonstrations and political gatherings.
Health+
Talk to your GP or a travel health clinic at least 6 weeks before you go about which vaccinations are recommended for you. You may need proof of a polio vaccination in some circumstances.
Money+
The currency is the Pakistani rupee (PKR). ATMs are easy to find in the cities, and international hotels take cards, but markets, food stalls and tips run on cash.
Phones+
Check your UK provider’s roaming plan before you go. Local SIM cards are sold against your passport; Jazz, Zong and Telenor have 4G in the cities.
Drinking water+
Drink bottled water only. At the cricket, carry water: it is a long day in the sun.
Dress and etiquette+
Dress modestly: covered shoulders and knees for everyone, and women should carry a scarf to cover their hair in mosques and shrines. Shoes come off at mosque and shrine entrances. Do not photograph military or government buildings.
Weather+
October to March is the season. Expect warm, dry days in October and November; in December and January Lahore, Islamabad and Multan are cool, often 5 to 20°C, with morning fog and smog in Lahore. Karachi stays warm.
Plugs+
Pakistan mostly uses two-pin round plugs (types C and D) at 230V. Bring a universal adaptor.
Getting around+
Transfers are arranged for you. Domestic flights link Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Multan, and the motorway between Lahore and Islamabad takes about 4 hours.
