A Landmark Since 1906
The Championship Ailsa Course came first, in 1901. The hotel opened five years later, in 1906 — its original ceilings designed by James Miller — and a second course followed in 1909. Links, then hotel, then links again: that chronology is the story of Turnberry.
The Championship Links
Two Courses, One Lighthouse
Trump's Twelve, a twelve-hole par-3 course with holes from 70 to 206 yards, opened in August 2026.
Both courses share the same view: Turnberry's lighthouse — between the 9th and 10th of the Ailsa, and along the King Robert the Bruce's shoreline holes.

A hosted departure with Darren — playing, dining and travelling with the group. Rounds on the Ailsa and King Robert the Bruce, dinner at The Duel in the Sun in the clubhouse, and the run of the resort in between. Group numbers are limited by design. Dates and availability on request.

A House of Your Own
Every villa bedroom has zip-and-link beds — a twin or a king, whichever the group needs. Self-catering villas on the estate, in 6-bedroom and 8-bedroom configurations: fully detached, exclusive use, each with its own communal lounge and kitchen. Every bedroom is en suite, with key-card entry. Warm and domestic rather than formal — oak beams, log fires, a family kitchen. Spa access is included and unlimited for villa guests. The clubhouse is a 1–2 minute walk, the hotel 2–4 minutes — complimentary concierge shuttles are also available.

The Duel in the Sun
In the Turnberry Clubhouse — a Scottish Bar and Grill named for the 1977 Open Championship duel between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus. Dry-aged grass-fed beef and locally sourced Ayrshire seafood. The view takes in the opening hole of the Ailsa and the closing hole of the King Robert the Bruce. All-day dining, Mon–Sun 7:00am–9:00pm.

King of Scots
The halfway house, inside Turnberry's lighthouse between the 9th and 10th of the Ailsa. Light bites and refreshments. Open seven days a week in season, from the first golfer to the last. Winter hours are reduced and are set each year — we confirm them when we book.

The Spa at Turnberry — Trump's own line: "Scotland's ultimate five-star spa" — includes a thermal suite with a 65-foot infinity pool, Finnish and bio saunas, a steam room and an ice fountain. The Quiro Golf Massage, a Natura Bissé treatment using warmed golf balls, is built for a body that has walked the links. Beyond the golf, Turnberry Adventures on the estate include archery, horseback riding, air rifle and clay pigeon shooting, electric bikes and quad biking, plus riding at the Equestrian Centre on the Ayrshire coast. Darren Gough
Darren Gough MBE is one of England's most celebrated cricketers — a fast bowler who took 229 Test wickets and was a central figure in England sides throughout the 1990s and 2000s. His high-energy personality and passion for sport made him a fan favourite during and after his playing days. Since retiring from cricket, Darren has become a prominent media personality and has been involved in a range of hosting and ambassador roles across sport and entertainment. Golf has long been a constant alongside his cricket career, and he brings the same competitive instinct and warmth to the fairway that he brought to the crease.

The Rhythm of a Long Weekend — Yours to Reshape
Day One
Arrive
Glasgow Prestwick is around forty minutes away by car, Glasgow an hour and twenty; for those who'd rather not drive, Girvan station is seven minutes from the door. Settle in, walk out to the links, and eat at 1906 — the hotel's signature restaurant, named for the year it opened.
Day Two
The Championship Ailsa
Willie Fernie laid it out in 1901; Mackenzie Ross and Martin Ebert have shaped it since, most recently in 2025 when the par-five 7th green was moved down to the shoreline. Allow the full day — a round here takes four and a half to five hours and shouldn't be hurried. Stop at King of Scots, the halfway house inside the lighthouse between the 9th and 10th. Dinner afterwards at The Duel in the Sun, which looks out over the opening hole of the Ailsa and the closing hole of the Bruce.
Day Three
King Robert the Bruce
The second course is not the inland one people expect. Its origins go back to 1909; it served as an airbase in the war, was restored by Mackenzie Ross, reimagined by Steel and Ebert in 2001, and in 2017 Ebert reversed the coastal holes — so the Bruce now runs along the shore with the same lighthouse in view. Par 72, and in Golf Digest's top 50 for 2026–27.
Day Four
The Spa, or the Estate
Don't play at all: the spa runs a golf massage worked with warmed golf balls, built for a body that's walked thirty-six holes of links, and the thermal suite has a sixty-five-foot infinity pool looking out over the Firth of Clyde. There's archery, clay shooting, riding and quad biking on the estate for a group that wants something else entirely.
