Links & Legends — Doonbeg with Darren Gough
Doughmore Bay, County Clare.
A single championship links on the Atlantic, 1.5 miles of crescent beach and century-old dunes, and a house of your own on the estate. Played your way — hosted by Darren Gough, or entirely your own.
TRUMP DOONBEG · COUNTY CLARE, IRELAND
Identified in 1892
Four Farms and a Regiment
In 1892, officers of the Scottish Black Watch Regiment identified this stretch of the Atlantic coast as ideal links land. A century later, the Doonbeg Community Development Company began promoting the idea locally, and Shannon Development optioned 377 acres from four local farming families. Kiawah Development Partners closed the purchase in December 1999, with $25 million of private investment, and construction began that same month. The course opened on 9 July 2002 with an exhibition match — Greg Norman beat Pádraig Harrington 2&1. The Trump Organisation bought the club in February 2014. The same Greg Norman who opened Doonbeg had won the Open Championship at Turnberry in 1986 — one golfer, two Follow On Tours venues.

The Championship Links
Nine Out, Nine Back
Trump International Golf Links, Doonbeg
Eighteen holes through century-old dunes above Doughmore Bay, with the Atlantic in view from sixteen of them. Dr Martin Hawtree routed it on a philosophy of least disturbance — the most natural line through the sand — giving a single loop, nine out and nine back, and an unusual mix of five par 3s and five par 5s.
Par 72 · 7,026 yards · 4½ hours · Atlantic views from 16 of 18 holes
- 1st — the green is protected on three sides by an enormous dune
- 4th — a 673-yard par 5 with a ravine splitting the fairway
- 9th — a 205-yard par 3 running parallel to the beach with three deep pot bunkers guarding the green
- 18th — 453 yards with the Atlantic down the entire right side, finishing at Trump's Bar & Restaurant

The 2026 Amgen Irish Open is played here, 10–13 September 2026, on the DP World Tour.
"May be the last true links course in Ireland or Great Britain." — Trump Doonbeg

Two Ways to Play It
With Darren Gough
A hosted departure with Darren — playing, dining and travelling with the group. A round on the links, dinner at Trump's Bar looking back down the 18th, and the run of the estate in between. Group numbers are limited by design. Dates and availability on request.
On your own terms
The same golf, the same estate, built entirely around your group. Choose your rooms or a cottage of your own, how many rounds you want, and what fills the days between — falconry, the beach, or the Cliffs of Moher up the coast. Quoted individually.

Your Host
Darren Gough

Darren Gough MBE is one of England's most celebrated cricketers — a fast bowler who took 229 Test wickets and was a central figure in England sides throughout the 1990s and 2000s. His high-energy personality and passion for sport made him a fan favourite during and after his playing days. Since retiring from cricket, Darren has become a prominent media personality and has been involved in a range of hosting and ambassador roles across sport and entertainment. Golf has long been a constant alongside his cricket career, and he brings the same competitive instinct and warmth to the fairway that he brought to the crease.
“I've spent seventeen years putting these trips together. Having Darren host them is the bit I'm most looking forward to.”
— Ian Kerr, Founder

The Rhythm of a Long Weekend — Yours to Reshape
Day One
Arrive on the Clare coast
Shannon is an hour by car and the road runs out at the Atlantic. Settle in, walk out over the dunes to see what you've come for, and eat at the Ocean View Restaurant above Doughmore Bay — named best hotel seafood restaurant by the Good Eating Guide.
Day Two
The links
Eighteen holes with the Atlantic in view from all but two of them. Take a caddie — they know what the wind does to a ball here. The 4th runs 673 yards, the 9th plays along the beach to a green ringed by deep pot bunkers, and the 18th brings you home down the coast to Trump's Bar, where the day tends to end whether you planned it that way or not.
Day Three
A day off the course
Falconry on the lawn, a ride along Doughmore Beach, or the White Horses Spa. Or take the coast road north to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren, and let someone else do the driving.
Day Four
Round again, or out to the islands
Trump's own line is that the wind makes the course play differently almost every day — which is the argument for going back out. Or take the boat to the Aran Islands and leave the clubs where they are.
Four nights is the shape most groups take. Yours can be any length — tell us what you're after and we'll build it around you.
